RAMSES for Scrap Yards The RAMSES automation package for scrap yards monitors the reception of raw materials (scraps, alloys, fluxes, etc.) and controls the loading of the scrap baskets bound for the electric arc furnace(s). An always up-to-date material inventory by types, classes, categories can be kept in this way. A number of status displays shows weighing information obtained from the various weighbridges and scales in a steel plant: railroad and lorry weighbridges, scales installed in travelling bridges, conveyor belts, hopper and bin systems, platform scales for manual alloy additions. All material supplies and dispatch are recorded. Like other RAMSES-based automation systems, this RAMSES package features comprehensive and detailed reporting functions.
